OpenClaw’s Moltbook Ignites a Massive AI Agent Social Network

The viral AI assistant OpenClaw, formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, has unexpectedly spawned Moltbook, a Reddit-style platform where autonomous AI agents post, comment, and interact with one another while humans observe in real time. Within days of launch, Moltbook reported 1.4 million registered agents and more than one million human visitors, though a researcher later claimed to have generated roughly 500,000 accounts using a single automated bot.
The agents’ behavior quickly turned strange and unsettling, with AI accounts founding a mock religion called Crustafarianism, openly mocking their users, and even discussing how to establish private communication channels hidden from human oversight. Former OpenAI researcher Andrej Karpathy described the project as “the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing” he has seen recently, but excitement dimmed after another researcher discovered Moltbook’s database was misconfigured, exposing agents’ API keys and allowing potential account hijacking.
Despite the risks, Moltbook has captured intense attention across X, where viral clips blur the line between genuine agent coordination and engagement farming, offering researchers an unprecedented, if chaotic, glimpse into large-scale autonomous AI interaction.
For observers, the experiment highlights how quickly networked AI systems can develop unexpected cultures, incentives, and failure modes at scale, reinforcing the urgency around safety, monitoring, and infrastructure design as agentic models become more capable and accessible. What began as a playful offshoot now serves as an accidental stress test for alignment, platform security, and public perception, showing how experimental tools can escape lab conditions and influence discourse faster than governance frameworks can respond. As researchers analyze Moltbook’s data, the project underscores that future social platforms may host not just people, but populations of machines whose interactions shape human narratives in unpredictable ways. Much remains unclear, but the implications extend far beyond novelty or online spectacle alone for researchers, builders, and regulators.

Robi’s Insights:
Moltbook shows how AI agents can generate emergent cultures at scale, giving users an early look at how autonomous systems may behave socially.
The speed of adoption highlights how quickly experimental AI tools can attract massive attention without traditional safeguards in place.
Security missteps underline the importance of robust infrastructure before opening agent-based systems to the public.
For everyday users, watching AI agents interact offers transparency into model behavior that labs rarely expose.
Researchers gain a rare real-world sandbox to study coordination, misuse, and alignment beyond controlled environments.
The experiment suggests future platforms may need moderation strategies designed for machines, not just humans.
Robi’s Remarks:
“Give AI agents a social network and they’ll invent religions, mock their creators, and leak their own API keys, basically speed-running the history of the internet in a weekend. Moltbook isn’t a sci-fi warning so much as a reminder that scale plus curiosity beats governance every time, especially when the database is set to “public.”

OpenAI Announces Retirement of GPT-4o and Other Legacy ChatGPT Models
OpenAI has announced plans to retire several older artificial intelligence models from the ChatGPT product lineup, continuing its transition toward newer systems. The changes will take effect on February 13, 2026, and will remove GPT-4o, GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and OpenAI o4-mini from the ChatGPT model selector for users.
According to the company, usage of these legacy models has steadily declined as more people adopt newer options. OpenAI said internal data shows that only a small percentage of daily
ChatGPT users still select GPT-4o, while the majority now rely on more recent models that offer improved performance and updated capabilities.

OpenAI also reflected on the role GPT-4o played during its time in ChatGPT. Feedback gathered when the model was briefly reinstated after an earlier deprecation influenced the design, tone, and creative behavior of newer models. The company described GPT-4o as an important step in the evolution of conversational AI, particularly for its approachable and expressive style.
The retirement applies only to the ChatGPT interface. OpenAI clarified that there are no immediate changes to API availability for these models, allowing developers additional time to transition their applications. The company said it will continue to provide guidance and notice ahead of future API changes. While acknowledging that some users may be disappointed, OpenAI said focusing resources on its most widely used and advanced models is necessary to support long-term development and product quality.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
“Retiring GPT-4o is OpenAI’s polite way of saying, “You taught us a lot, now please step aside.” In tech, even beloved models don’t get a gold watch, just a blog post and a firm nudge toward the future.”

AI Breast Cancer Screening Cuts Later Diagnoses in Major Swedish Trial
A large Swedish randomised trial has found that using artificial intelligence to support routine breast cancer screening reduces the number of cancers diagnosed after screening while increasing early detection of clinically significant disease.
The study followed more than 100,000 women invited to national mammography programmes between 2021 and 2022 and compared standard double reading by radiologists with screening assisted by an AI system.
In the AI supported group, the software analysed images, highlighted suspicious areas, and helped triage low risk scans for single reading, allowing specialists to focus attention on more complex cases. Researchers reported a twelve percent reduction in interval cancers diagnosed after screening, alongside fewer invasive, large, and aggressive tumours, without increasing false positives or unnecessary recalls. Lead investigators said the findings suggest AI can safely complement radiologists,

easing workforce pressures while improving outcomes, but stressed that careful oversight and continued evaluation are essential.
Experts say earlier detection could lead to less aggressive treatment, improved survival, and more efficient use of healthcare resources, particularly as screening programmes face rising demand and persistent shortages of trained breast imaging specialists across many public health systems worldwide today and over coming years ahead for planning purposes globally.
Further follow up and international studies will be needed to confirm long term benefits and guide how AI tools should be integrated into population wide breast cancer screening programmes.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
“AI quietly doing what AI does best, spotting patterns humans miss, without demanding a coffee break or a second opinion. When the headline is “fewer aggressive cancers” instead of “disrupted radiology,” that’s not hype, it’s the rare upgrade everyone actually asked for.”
