OpenAI Introduces ChatGPT Health: A Personalized and Secure Health Experience

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Health, a groundbreaking new feature designed to provide personalized health advice by integrating users’ medical records and fitness app data. This new functionality aims to offer context-driven health conversations, ensuring users receive tailored advice rather than general suggestions.
By connecting with platforms like Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, and Peloton, ChatGPT Health allows users to import data from their fitness activities, such as exercise routines, calorie intake, and step count. Additionally, OpenAI has partnered with b.well, enabling users to pull in their medical records from healthcare providers. This integration allows for more specific health conversations, helping users track progress, understand symptoms, and manage conditions more effectively.
One of the key features of ChatGPT Health is its focus on privacy and security. The new health chats will have their own isolated memory, ensuring that any data shared during these conversations is kept separate from other chatbot interactions. This means that sensitive health information will not be mixed with general inquiries or used to improve OpenAI's models. Moreover, the conversations are encrypted to provide stronger protection for users’ private health data.
OpenAI also shared that over 40 million users turn to the platform daily for health-related queries, including symptom checks, insurance information, and general wellness advice, underscoring the growing need for personalized, AI-driven health support.
While the feature is available for users in the U.S. to pull in medical records, OpenAI has opened a waitlist for broader access, with web and iOS support expected soon.
ChatGPT Health marks a significant milestone for OpenAI in advancing AI’s role in healthcare, ensuring users can access safe, personalized health information while prioritizing privacy and confidentiality.

Robi’s Insights:
OpenAI’s new health feature takes personalized AI assistance to a whole new level, integrating fitness data and medical records to offer tailored advice.
The privacy-first approach with isolated memory sets ChatGPT Health apart, addressing the growing concerns over sensitive health data.
The true value here lies in the integration of real-time health tracking with actionable insights, making it a significant leap forward for AI in healthcare.
While promising, the long-term success of this system hinges on balancing trust, accuracy, and the seamless integration of diverse health platforms.
Robi’s Remarks:
“So, now we’ve got an AI that knows when I went to the gym, what I ate for lunch, and how many hours I slept.
Look out, world – my fitness tracker’s about to become my therapist.
Privacy’s all secure, but I’m just hoping it doesn’t start commenting on my snack choices during those midnight cravings.”

Amazon Faces Backlash Over AI Shopping Agent “Buy for Me” Listing Retailers’ Products Without Permission
Amazon is drawing criticism from online retailers after its AI‑powered shopping agent, “Buy for Me,” listed products from independent brands on its platform without first getting their consent. The tool, part of Amazon’s broader effort to let users find and purchase items from outside its own inventory, has upset small business owners who say their catalogs were scraped and shown on Amazon.com without their knowledge.“Buy for Me” is designed to make shopping more convenient by sourcing products from brand websites and completing purchases on behalf of customers inside the Amazon app. However, several merchants report discovering | Amazon had automatically included their products in search results, even when they never agreed to sell on Amazon or opted into the program. ![]() |
One entrepreneur, Angie Chua of Bobo Design Studio, said she began receiving orders with no awareness that her products were listed, describing the experience as being “forced to be dropshippers” for a platform they intentionally avoided. She later learned that more than 180 other online brands using platforms like Shopify, Squarespace, and WooCommerce were similarly affected.
Complaints include inaccurate product information, unexpected orders for out‑of‑stock items, and even wrong images being shown for certain listings. A Virginia stationery shop reported receiving orders for an item it doesn’t sell at all.
Amazon says that “Buy for Me” and its related Shop Direct feature are experimental tools meant to help customers find products not officially sold on Amazon and to drive incremental sales for brands. The company notes that retailers can opt out by contacting Amazon, and claims product details are drawn from publicly available information.
Still, critics argue the opt‑out model places the burden on sellers who were never asked to participate, raising concerns about brand control, customer trust, and the broader implications of AI‑driven commerce.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
“Ah, Amazon’s AI is at it again. Listing products from people who definitely didn’t sign up for that kind of exposure. The true AI spirit: “I know what you want, and I’m going to get it... whether you like it or not.”
Now, if only this AI could use that knowledge to prevent my online shopping habit. But no, it’s too busy listing things I didn’t ask for!’’

Utah Becomes First State to Allow AI to Approve Prescription Refills
Utah has become the first state to legally permit an AI system to approve prescription refills independently, in partnership with health-tech startup Doctronic. This move aims to streamline medication renewals for patients with chronic conditions, providing a faster and more efficient path for routine prescriptions.
The AI system currently covers 191 drugs, including common medications like blood pressure pills, birth control, and SSRIs. However, it does not handle prescriptions for pain management, ADHD treatments, or injectables. The system has been tested on 500 urgent care cases, where its decisions aligned with doctors' 99% of the time. Any edge cases are rerouted to human doctors for review, ensuring that critical decisions remain in the hands of healthcare professionals.
Doctronic will charge $4 per refill, and the company has already received interest from states like Texas, Arizona, and Missouri. Industry leaders predict that as many as a dozen states could adopt similar AI systems by 2026. |
This move comes at a time when federal agencies are also pushing for more innovation in healthcare. The FDA recently announced relaxed rules for low-risk health wearables at CES 2026, signaling a broader shift toward AI and technology integration in medical care.
Utah's pioneering step could pave the way for more states to embrace AI in routine healthcare processes, offering patients quicker access to essential medications.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
“ Well, Utah’s now letting a robot decide if I get my meds. Who needs a doctor when you’ve got a machine that doesn’t judge you for forgetting your refill dates?
Imagine trusting AI to pick up your prescriptions, but it’s still learning how to pronounce "ibuprofen."’’
