Meta Unveils Pocket, an AI App for Creating and Sharing Interactive Mini Games

Meta has quietly introduced Pocket, a standalone AI-powered mobile app that lets people create, share, and explore interactive mini-games called “gizmos.” Instead of writing code, users describe ideas with natural language, and the app generates playable experiences. The launch expands Meta’s growing AI ecosystem beyond social networking into creative entertainment and experimentation for everyday mobile users and creators alike today.

Each gizmo responds to touch, phone movement, audio, and sometimes camera input, making experiences feel dynamic instead of static. Users can browse a social feed of community creations, remix existing projects, and publish their own versions. The experience emphasizes prompt-based creativity rather than traditional programming skills or game development tools, lowering barriers to participation significantly from day one onward globally too.

Pocket builds on technology acquired through Meta’s earlier deal with Atma Sciences, the startup behind the original Gizmo platform. The company licensed the technology and hired key engineers, allowing it to transform the concept into a broader social experience. Although Pocket has appeared on Google Play and Meta’s Help Center, the company says the app is not yet available everywhere, with availability expected to expand gradually over time.

The launch reflects Meta’s broader strategy of making AI central to content creation and social interaction. Rather than focusing solely on chatbots, the company is exploring AI-generated interactive media that users can build collaboratively. If widely adopted, Pocket could introduce a new category of social entertainment where creating games becomes as simple as writing a prompt, potentially reshaping how people create, share, and experience digital content across mobile platforms.

Robi’s Insights:

  • AI-powered game creation could make interactive content accessible to anyone, regardless of coding experience.

  • Prompt-based development may encourage more casual users to experiment with creativity on mobile devices.

  • Social remixing features can accelerate collaboration and inspire faster idea sharing within communities.

  • Pocket signals that AI is evolving beyond assistants into tools for interactive entertainment and creation.

  • If integrated across Meta’s ecosystem, creators could reach larger audiences without building games from scratch.

  • The gradual rollout suggests Meta is refining the experience before introducing it to a global audience.

Robi’s Remarks:

“Meta just gave everyone a game studio powered by vibes instead of code. Somewhere, a software engineer just watched six years of computer science get replaced by, “Make me Flappy Bird… but with raccoons.”"

Anthropic Restores Claude Fable 5

Anthropic has officially restored access to Claude Fable 5 after the U.S. government lifted export controls that temporarily forced the company to suspend the advanced AI model worldwide. Beginning July 1, Fable 5 is again available through Claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code, and other Anthropic platforms, while access on AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry will resume as quickly as possible. The company said Pro, Max, Team, and select Enterprise customers can use Fable 5 within up to 50 percent of their weekly limits through July 7 before usage credits apply. Anthropic explained that the restrictions were introduced after researchers reported a method for bypassing some of Fable 5’s cybersecurity safeguards. Following discussions with government officials and industry partners, including Amazon, the company developed an improved safety classifier designed to block the reported behavior.

If a request triggers the safeguard, it will instead be routed to Claude Opus 4.8. Anthropic said testing showed the specific bypass is now blocked in more than 99 percent of cases.

The company also announced broader efforts to strengthen AI security by working with Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and other Glasswing partners on a shared framework for evaluating jailbreak severity and improving industry standards. Anthropic said the experience reinforced the importance of collaboration between AI developers, governments, and researchers as increasingly powerful models are deployed responsibly.

🤖 Robi’s Take :

"Claude Fable 5 is back with stronger safety guardrails. AI companies now release patches like video game studios except the final boss is always a guy on X trying to jailbreak the model before breakfast.”

AI Replaces Nursing Roles at Montefiore, Raising Workforce Concerns

Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx has dismissed 12 nurses while introducing artificial intelligence tools intended to support clinical documentation and virtual nursing workflows. The move has sparked concern among frontline staff and labor advocates, who question whether AI is being used to reduce staffing rather than supplement clinical care.

The health system reportedly plans to expand AI-enabled software designed to automate administrative tasks, including documentation and aspects of patient communication. Hospital leaders have framed the technology as part of broader digital transformation efforts aimed at improving efficiency and addressing operational pressures. However, critics argue that replacing experienced nurses with AI risks undermining patient care quality, workplace morale, and professional expertise.

The reported layoffs have intensified debate across healthcare about AI’s evolving role. While many organizations are deploying AI to reduce paperwork,

streamline workflows, and ease clinician burnout, nursing organizations emphasize that technology should augment not replace licensed professionals responsible for clinical judgment, patient assessment, and compassionate care. The controversy also highlights ongoing tensions between innovation, workforce stability, and patient safety as hospitals adopt new digital tools.

The case may become an important example for future AI implementation in healthcare, prompting closer scrutiny from healthcare workers, policymakers, and hospital leaders over how automation should be integrated responsibly while preserving essential human expertise in patient care.

🤖 Robi’s Take :

"Hospitals said AI would eliminate paperwork. The paperwork survived, but somehow the nurses got laid off. Apparently "human in the loop" now means the patient."
