Anthropic Launches Claude Finance Agents to Automate Banking

Anthropic has introduced ten ready-to-run Claude agent templates for financial services, targeting repetitive work across banking, asset management, insurance, and corporate finance. Announced on May 5, 2026, the templates are designed to help teams build pitchbooks, screen KYC files, reconcile ledgers, review statements, and close books faster while keeping human approval central.

Each template packages skills, connectors, and subagents into a reference architecture firms can adapt to their own modeling standards, risk policies, and review flows. The agents can run as plugins in Claude Cowork or Claude Code, or as Claude Managed Agents on Anthropic’s platform for longer, programmatic workflows.

The release also extends Claude across Microsoft 365. Claude add-ins for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are generally available, with Outlook coming soon. Context now carries between apps, so an analyst can start a model in Excel, turn it into a PowerPoint deck, and draft a client note without restarting the task.

Anthropic is pairing the templates with expanded financial data access through connectors from Dun & Bradstreet, Fiscal AI, Financial Modeling Prep, Guidepoint, IBISWorld, SS&C IntraLinks, Third Bridge, and Verisk. Moody’s has also launched an MCP app that brings credit ratings and company data directly into Claude for compliance, credit, and business development use cases.

For users, the move signals a shift from chatbots that answer questions to agents that complete regulated work inside existing tools. Firms get audit logs, permissions, credential controls, and review checkpoints, which may make AI adoption easier in risk-heavy environments. The agents are available now through Anthropic’s financial services marketplace for paid Claude users and joint connector customers. If adoption spreads, analysts could spend less time copying data across spreadsheets and decks, and more time checking assumptions, advising clients, and making decisions with clearer evidence trails across daily workflows in complex markets and operations teams.

Robi’s Insights:

  • Claude’s finance agents could reduce manual prep work for analysts who spend hours moving data between models, memos, and decks.

  • Microsoft 365 integration makes the update more practical because users can stay inside familiar workplace tools.

  • Built-in audit logs and permissions matter for banks and insurers, where compliance is often the biggest AI adoption barrier.

  • The connector ecosystem gives users richer context, but output quality will still depend on data access and review discipline.

  • Human approval remains central, which positions Claude as a workflow partner rather than a fully independent decision-maker.

  • For everyday finance teams, the biggest benefit may be faster turnaround on recurring, document-heavy tasks.

Robi’s Remarks:

“OpenAI and Anthropic are building custom AI for enterprises, because apparently off-the-shelf confusion wasn’t scaling fast enough. Now every company can have a perfectly tailored robot that misunderstands them in their own unique way."

Coinbase Discovers AI Can Replace Humans Right After Humans Built the Company

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced that the crypto exchange is cutting roughly 14% of its workforce, about 700 employees, while publicly sharing the internal memo explaining the decision. Armstrong blamed two familiar villains haunting every tech executive this year: volatile markets and artificial intelligence. In the email, he said engineers using AI can now complete projects in days that once required entire teams working for weeks, which is apparently inspiring news unless you enjoy remaining employed. Coinbase plans to flatten management layers, build smaller “AI-native” teams,

and experiment with “one-person teams” where a single worker armed with algorithms somehow replaces engineering, design, and product departments simultaneously.

The company says affected employees will receive severance packages, healthcare coverage, and support during the transition, because nothing softens unemployment quite like a thoughtfully formatted HR PDF. Investors reacted positively, naturally, sending Coinbase shares higher after the announcement. The broader tech industry has spent months insisting AI will “augment” workers before immediately escorting those workers out of the building carrying cardboard boxes. Crypto companies once promised financial freedom through decentralization, but now the real innovation appears to be discovering new ways to tell employees that ChatGPT is their replacement with corporate empathy emojis attached. Some former employees will spend updating LinkedIn profiles beside posts about resilience, while Silicon Valley executives continue treating layoffs like TED Talks, where every cutting exercise becomes a speech about efficiency, disruption, and spreadsheets.

🤖 Robi’s Take :

"AI just found 100+ planets we missed, which is great news for science and terrible news for human confidence. We spent decades saying “the universe is mysterious,” and AI responded, “nah, you just weren’t looking properly.”

AI Maps Body Composition to Predict Disease Risk

Researchers have developed an artificial intelligence system that generates highly detailed maps of fat and muscle distribution across the human body, offering a more precise way to predict risks of major diseases than traditional measures like body mass index. The approach aims to improve early detection and personalized care.

The study was conducted by a multidisciplinary team using advanced imaging data and machine learning models trained on thousands of scans. Instead of relying on overall weight, the system analyzes how fat is stored around organs and within muscles, factors strongly linked to conditions such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Results showed that the AI-generated maps could identify subtle patterns invisible to clinicians, enabling more accurate risk stratification.

Individuals with similar body mass index scores often displayed very different internal fat distributions, which translated into significantly different health risks in predictive models.

Researchers say the technology could be integrated into routine scans, providing clinicians with actionable insights without additional procedures. Future work will focus on validating the system across diverse populations and exploring its use in guiding interventions and monitoring treatment outcomes.

The researchers emphasize that this method may complement existing clinical tools rather than replace them, helping physicians better understand individual variation. If successfully implemented, it could support preventive strategies, reduce healthcare costs, and enable more targeted therapies tailored to each patient’s unique biological profile in practice.

🤖 Robi’s Take :

"AI beating doctors at triage is impressive, but to be fair, the AI wasn’t also trying to remember 47 passwords and skip lunch. Peak performance really kicks in when you remove “being human” from the job description."
