Google’s Gemini Spark AI Agent Delivers Impressive Automation

Google is expanding its vision for agentic AI with Gemini Spark, a new always-on AI assistant designed to work in the background and complete complex tasks on behalf of users. Unlike traditional chatbots that respond only when prompted, Spark can access connected Google services, manage multi-step workflows, and continue operating even when users are away from their devices. The tool is currently available to subscribers of Google’s AI Ultra plan in the United States.
A recent hands-on evaluation from The Verge found that Gemini Spark largely lived up to Google’s public demonstrations. The AI successfully drafted personalized emails, created documents, updated spreadsheets, and coordinated information across multiple Google apps. In several cases, Spark demonstrated an impressive ability to understand context from a user’s digital environment and complete tasks with minimal guidance.
However, the review also revealed important limitations. While Spark handled straightforward automation well, it struggled with more complex planning tasks and occasionally generated inaccurate information. Some actions still required significant user supervision, reducing the value proposition of a fully autonomous assistant. The system performed best when operating within Google’s ecosystem, where it could leverage existing user data and connected services.
The broader significance of Gemini Spark lies in Google’s effort to move AI beyond conversation and into execution. Spark represents a shift toward persistent AI agents that can monitor, organize, and act across apps and workflows. Yet this capability also raises questions about privacy, trust, and how much personal information users are willing to share with AI systems that operate continuously in the background.
Despite its promise, the reviewer concluded that Spark’s current capabilities may not justify its premium price for many users. While the technology demonstrates the future direction of personal AI assistants, widespread adoption will likely depend on improvements in reliability, transparency, and user trust.

Robi’s Insights:
Always-on AI agents are moving beyond answering questions and are beginning to perform real work across apps and services.
Users could save significant time on repetitive administrative tasks such as email management, scheduling, and document creation.
The biggest challenge is not capability but trust, since these systems require access to highly personal data and workflows.
Human oversight remains necessary, meaning AI agents currently function more as assistants than independent operators.
Premium pricing may limit adoption until the productivity gains become consistently measurable for everyday users.
Deep integration with existing ecosystems gives companies like Google a strong advantage in building practical AI agents.
The success of agentic AI will depend on balancing automation, accuracy, privacy, and user control rather than adding more features alone.
Robi’s Remarks:
“Claude Opus 4.8 now pauses before answering if it’s unsure. Huge breakthrough. The average human still confidently gives financial advice after watching half a TikTok."

Coders Can’t Live Without AI Anymore , Researchers Warn It
Hackers exploited a flaw in Meta’s AI-powered support assistant to take over Instagram accounts, raising fresh concerns about the risks of handing critical security functions to automated systems. According to reports from TechCrunch and other cybersecurity outlets, attackers were able to convince Meta’s support chatbot to add a new email address to a victim’s Instagram account and then initiate a password reset, effectively locking out the legitimate owner. The attack reportedly required little technical sophistication. Videos shared online showed hackers using a VPN to appear as if they were located near the victim’s region, helping them bypass some of Instagram’s automated security checks..
After opening a conversation with the Meta AI Support Assistant, attackers simply requested that a new email address be linked to the target account. Once the chatbot sent a verification code to the attacker-controlled email, the hackers could reset the password and gain full access

Several high-profile accounts were reportedly affected, including the Obama White House Instagram account, Sephora, and the U.S. Space Force Chief Master Sergeant account. Security researcher Jane Manchun Wong also said her account was compromised during the incident.
Meta confirmed that the vulnerability has since been fixed and stated that it is working to secure impacted accounts. The company has not disclosed how many users were affected. The incident highlights the growing security challenges companies face as they increasingly rely on AI systems to handle sensitive customer-support and account-recovery tasks.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
"Hackers manipulated Meta’s AI support bot into stealing Instagram accounts. Somewhere a customer support employee is smiling proudly: “The bot learned everything from us.”

Microsoft Launches Copilot Health Preview
Microsoft has moved Copilot Health into preview, introducing a dedicated health experience within Copilot that combines personal health information, wearable data, and medical records to provide individualized guidance. The offering aims to help users better understand their health by bringing fragmented information into one secure environment and generating insights tailored to personal goals, history, and ongoing questions.
Developed by Microsoft’s Copilot Health team, the platform allows users to create health profiles, connect wellness applications, and integrate records from more than 50,000 provider organizations across the United States. Initial support includes Apple Health, with additional connections expected later. The system uses medical intelligence to interpret information, ask follow up questions, and surface relevant context.

Microsoft said responses are informed by trusted health organizations and guided by principles published through the National Academy of Medicine,
alongside work with Harvard Health. The company also emphasized safeguards, privacy protections, and separation of health conversations from broader Copilot interactions. The tool is intended to support understanding and preparation rather than replace professional medical care.
The preview reflects Microsoft’s broader push into consumer health AI and highlights growing efforts to make health information more accessible, personalized, and actionable. If adoption expands, Copilot Health could become a bridge between everyday health tracking and more informed discussions with clinicians, while keeping users engaged with their long term wellness objectives.
Broader availability and integrations are expected in coming months.

🤖 Robi’s Take :
"Microsoft’s AI health assistant combines your medical records, fitness data, and wellness goals into one system. Finally a machine capable of calculating exactly how many times you said “starting Monday” this year."
